Qualifications:
  • Consultants: Essential: MBA Finance and adequate knowledge of computer operation. Desirable: Two year experience
  • Research Officer: Essential: MA in Economics or Mathematics or Economics Agriculture or Commerce or Statistics with Statistics as one of the paper in the first four cases from a recognized University and basic knowledge of computer operation. Desirable: Two years experience in Economic Planning or Development appraisal or Evaluation of Monitoring of Projects
Age: Not exceeding 35 Years (relaxable in accordance with instructions issued by the Administration from time to time.

ICRISAT - Technical/Scientific Officer

Technical/Scientific Officer for AVRDC-The World Vegetable Center

ICRISAT seeks applications from Indian nationals for the post of Technical/Scientific Officer for AVRDC to be based in Jharkhand. This is a nationally recruited position.

About AVRDC:  The World Vegetable Center is a nonprofit, autonomous international agricultural research center with headquarters in Taiwan and regional offices around the globe. The Center conducts research and development programs that contribute to improved incomes and diets in the developing world.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical and analytical support to the project manager on all matters related to conducting, monitoring and evaluating experimental trials/activities;
  • Collect data and maintain databases on indicators in the sub-project’s consolidated action plan for use in technical project reports and publications;
  • Provide technical assistance in disseminating and promoting good practices and lessons learned from various project activities;
  • Help organize and coordinate trainings to build up and strengthen the capacity of local partners in carrying out research and extension activities for vegetable growers
  • Assist in developing training extension documents, materials and programs in coordination with project team members
  • Assist in the preparation of periodic progress reports, technical papers, and presentations for meetings and annual reports as needed for donors, project beneficiaries, and team members
  • Provide project administrative support such as procurement, payments and maintaining accounts in accordance to AVRDC’s policies and regulations
