Associate Web Master

ICRISAT seeks applications from Indian nationals for the post of Associate Web Master to be based at Patancheru, Andhra Pradesh, India. This is a nationally recruited position.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain all ICRISAT websites and applications hosted on web platform. These sites include main web site at http://www.icrisat.org, Intranet site at http://Intranet.icrisat.org, and other project and activity related web sites.
• Design/prepare style sheets, templates and forms, needed for web sites.
• Design/integrate/modify pages, posts, media objects i.e., picture galleries, info graphics, videos,publications, PowerPoint presentations, flash-based presentations, RSS for press releases) with ICRISAT web sites
• Large number of ICRISAT websites are hosted on Microsoft’s IIS web server and applications are developed on ASP .Net platform.
• Many of the newer ICRISAT web sites are developed using wordpress blog, drupal running, hosted on apache web server on Linux. These web sites use PHP language.
• Providing support to components of the ISU/KSI and work effectively with ISU team.
• Manage and support video conferencing activities and services offered by ISU/KSI.
• Other related IT responsibilities allocated by ISU from time-to-time

Competencies:

• Good expertise on HTML, CSS and Java script, PHP and other web related scripting.
• Expertise on Web page authoring tools, Dreamweaver, MS infopath, etc.
• Excellent knowledge with Adobe products and Macromedia products for managing and integrating media content with web pages.
• Good knowledge of Visualization and Graphical user interface (GUI) design skills.
• Knowledge of Web standards compliance and web compatibility issues across the platform.
• Good expertise on various contemporary web servers like IIS, Apache, Tomcat, etc…
• Brilliant knowledge of TCT/IP, domain naming/mapping standards, virtual hosting and related subjects.
• Good working knowledge on videoconferencing platforms and managing sessions, equipment’s audio/video streaming etc….
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines

Requirements:

• Graduate in Information Technology/ preferably with minimum 1.5 years’ experience on a wide range of knowledge/skills in creating, designing and managing web sites, Web publishing, and videoconferencing

General:  

The position is for six months, renewable based on the performance of the incumbent and the Institute's continuing need for the position. An attractive compensation is offered for the right candidate.
